    The Architectural ensemble of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra – the Zagorsk State History and Art Museum-Reserve (Project of Restoration)




        The original ensemble of the architectural monuments of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. It was formed in the course of six centuries. The construction went on continuously.

        The wooden structures were replaced by stone monuments, ramshackle and old buildings gave place to new, perfect and magnificent constructions. The integrity of the space decision, combination of new and old formed the basis of the artistic harmony of the structures of different epochs and styles. The architectural ensemble includes the monuments of church and civic architecture representing all periods of the development of Russian architecture between the 15th and the 18th centuries. .
