    Manushina Tatyana Nikolayevna

    Manushina T.N. 2005. Manushina Tatyana Nikolayevna - an Honoured Worker of Culture of the RSFSR , Scientific Secretary of the Sergiev Posad State History and Art Museum-Reserve. In 1960, after graduation from the History Faculty of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, she was assigned to a job in the Sergiev Posad (Zagorsk) State History and Art Museum-Reserve. She began as a scientific research worker and a curator of the folk art collection, then she was appointed in charge of “The Department of Old Russian Art of the 14th – 17th century”. In 1983 – 1986 Manushina was the Museum Director. Between 1986 and 2005 she was Deputy Director for Scientific Research. In 2004 she was awarded the Order of Friendship.

    1974. The new exposition of the Sacristy prepared by T.N. Manushina. T.N. Manushina created expositions “Old Russian Painting of the 14th – 17th century” (open in 1969 for the first time, when the atheistic propaganda was still very strong) and “Old Russian Applied Art of the 14th – 17th century” (open in 1974, also known as “The Sacristy of the Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra”).

    Books: Baldin V.I., Manushina T.N.  “The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. Architectural Ensemble and Art Collections” and  Manushina  T.N.,  Nikolayeva S.V., Shitova L.A.“The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Russian Tsars: Relics and Art Treasures”. Manushina T.N. is the author of several articles and monographs on Old Russian art. The major publications are “Old Russian Embroidery in the Zagorsk Museum” M., 1983), “The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra. Architectural Ensemble and Art Collections” (M., 1996 - in co-authorship with V.I. Baldin), “The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra and Russian Tsars” (M., 2002 – in co-authorship with S.V. Nikolayeva and L.A. Shitova).

    1990. 70th jubilee of the Museum. Manushina T.N.  signing her book for M.D. Glinkin. T.N. Manushina greatly contributed to the revival of the publications reflecting the scientific and education activity of the Museum workers. She took part in the edition of the unique source on history of North-Eastern Rus – the Donation Book of the Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery (M., 1987). Since 1990, T.N. Manushina has supervised the publications of the scientific reports of the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve, presenting various art collections and important events of national and local history.

    The First  Conference “The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra in History, Culture and Spiritual Life of  Russia”. 1998. Moscow Theological Academy. Manushina T.N., Archimandrit Makary (Veretennikov).. On T.N. Manushina’s initiative, since 1998 the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve has organized the regular international conferences “The Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra in History, Culture and Spiritual Life of Russia”, illustrating the combined efforts of the scholars and clergymen in the investigation of this unique phenomenon and outlining the perspectives of further research.
