4. The Museum Feast for the first class pupils “Let’s Make Friends!” (page 1)
The Museum-Reserve works with all kinds of educational establishments in Sergiev Posad and in the Sergiev Posad district from nursery schools to institutes. Our experience proved that the best results were achieved through systematic work. So, the Museum worked out the program “Come into the Museum World”. For the first class pupils the program “Let us Make Friends!” was prepared. The aim was to show the Museum exhibitions and displays and to stimulate the children’s creative and communicative activity.
In 2007, the program was organizes at the Museum exhibitions in three stages:
1. 27 – 28 September (1st stage)
2. 09 – 19, 31 October (2 stage)
3. 03 – 04 November (3 stage).
The first stage began with a theater performance. Then the children attended different excursions.
“Once there lived…” (at the exhibition “A Circle of the Earthly Life”) introduced Russian folk culture and presented the Museum as a keeper of Russian folk art.
The excursion “Miraculous Transformations” (at the exhibition “Russian Applied and Decorative Art of the 18th – 21st cc.” demonstrated Russian handicrafts (Bogorodskoye toys, toys of Sergiev Posad, Khokhloma painting, etc.) and showed how common materials: wood, clay, iron turned to “magic objects” and proved that “miraculous transformations “ could be performed by the children themselves if they learnt and worked industriously.(ýêñïîçèöèÿ «Äåêîðàòèâíî-ïðèêëàäíîå èñêóññòâî XVIII – XXI ââ.»).
The excursion “The Land of Eternal Discoveries” in the historical and archeology section) included creative tasks that helped the children to discover how people came to the greatest achievements, such as bow and arrows, alphabet and written language, tools and a sun-dial – and to learn the local history from ancient periods to the 18th century.
