In 2007, for example, the performance was organizes as follows. When the children arrived, the organizers collected their drawings and displayed them on the shield, shaped like a fir-tree, in the foyer. All drawings took part in the competition “New Year Fantasies”, 5 winners were awarded at the end of the program.
On the arrival each group of 20 children were invited to hall 1 to the exhibition “A Russian House”. There they took part in a performance excursion lasting 15 minutes. During the excursion the children’s attention was drown to a carved samovar among other decorative elements on the frontal of the peasant house. They guessed a riddle and recalled proverbs about samovars.
After the excursion the children went to hall 2 where Santa Claus and Snow Maiden invited them to take part in an improvised concert where the children recited poems and sang songs they prepared for the New Year party. When all children groups joined them after the excursion, the musical performance “The tale about Santa Claus drinking tea” began. The performance lasted 30 minutes.
After the performance there was an entertaining program “Dances in a ring” around the New-Yea r tree. All children played together with the heroes of the performance took part in traditional Russian winter games “Valenok”, “Little Hare”, “Smoker”, “Sparrow”, etc. Then there were two competitions “New-Year Drawing”, “Carnival Costumes”.
After the children and their parents joined the program of the buffoons “The Samovar boils, holds us of bore”.
The program included riddles, jokes, games connected with a samovar and Russian tea drinking. Within the yard of the historical and architectural complex “Konny Dvor” one could ride a pony or sledge in a coach.
