The Museum-Reserve works with all kinds of educational establishments in Sergiev Posad and in the Sergiev Posad district from nursery schools to institutes. Our experience proved that the best results were achieved through systematic work. So, the Museum worked out the program “Come into the Museum World”. For the first-class pupils the program “Let’s Make Friends!” was prepared. The aim was to show the Museum exhibitions and displays and to stimulate the children’s creative and communicative activity.


In September 11 – 12, the Sergiev Posad Museum received the first- class pupils who attended the program “Let’s Make Friends!” for the third time. The participants were over 400 first-class pupils from 16 schools of the town. The quests were received by two heigh dolls: Buffoon and Punch, - at the architectural and historical complex “Konny Dvor”. Together with Muse, who was a hostess of the Museum Land, they explained the origin and the meaning of the word “museum”.

The pupils recited poems about autumn and school for kind hosts. Then Muse’s assistants took the children to the exhibition dedicated to history of the Sergiev Posad district, to folk art exhibition and to the exhibition “Tree of Joy” presenting works made by the members of the Museum clubs. At the end of the excursion the children got Museum souvenirs and invitations for the following meeting. All participants of the following meeting were supposed to draw what they liked best for a temporary Museum exhibition.

The second stage of the program began in October 30 and lasted several days. The firs-class pupils attended the excursion “On the Makovets Hill” and leant how old the Monastery was, when and why it became a fortress. Then they saw the Monastery buildings. To repeat the material they were asked to answer the questions and to fill in the crossword puzzle together with their parents. The third stage was scheduled for the children and their parents for the end of October.
