OUR PARTICIPATION
All-Russian Museum Festival “Inter-Museum - 2010”
In June 3 – 6, the Sergiev Posad Museum took part in the XIIth All Russian Museum Festival “Inter- Museum – 2010”, traditionally organized in Pavilion ¹ 57 of the All Russian Exhibition Center. The conception of the festival was to demonstrate “that only in the museum the infinite cultural variety of Russia becomes an integral cultural space, bringing nations and cultures together; that all our work is meant for visitors: young people and adults, sophisticated and naive spectators, fellow-citizen and foreigners”. As always, the stands varied in themes, ideas and designs.
The main subject of our stand was the Time of Troubles and the defense of the Trinity Monastery at the beginning of the 17th century. A fragment of the fortress wall with a tower, modeled for the festival, attracted a lot of visitors. Besides, the Museum took part in the contest program.
In nomination “ The Museum Target Audience. Exposition for All and for Everyone” we presented the project “Keeping Traditions”: exhibition “The World of a Russian Village” (folk art in people’s life: customs, traditions, festivals) for different categories of visitors; in nomination “Publishing Projects. Library of Museum Knowledge” – the book “Sergiev Posad. Vzglyad cherez veka” [Sergiev Posad. View through the Centuries]. Both projects passed the selective round.
On the whole, the festival attracted more visitors. We believe there were more people in the pavilion. Specialists, librarians, different Web- publishers demonstrated deeper interest in serious museum literature.
