    The collection of wooden toys in the Sergiev-Posad museum(P.3)

        The qualitative new coil in craft development comes in 1960- 1970s in connection with revival of public interest to the historical past of the country, national culture. Masters purposefully addressed to receptions of the traditional Bogorodsky carving in its genre versions, leaning in the searches on plots and images of the Russian history and folklore. These traditions remain and now.

        Works executed at the enterprises of Joint-Stock Company “Bogorodsky carver» (2002) are presented in the museum. The individual creative talents of artists S.A.Pautova, M.J.Dvornikova, I.M.Polish, etc. were brightly showed.

        In the museum are the collection of wooden toys of the Nizhniy Novgorod Region. Manufactures of their toys was concentrated in Gorodetsk, Semenovsk and Voznesensk Regions. The toy hewed by axe was painted with the big skill at the Gorodetsky Region. In the beginning of 20th century the horse was the favourite personage. As a rule, it was decorated by free brush paint on a red, yellow, lilac or black background. The similar products executed by E.S.Ignatev are stored in a museum.

        The works executed in 1930s by Gorodetsk’s master I.A.Mazin differ of bright originality. The picturesque talent of the artist was showed in a painting of a panel, children's furniture, turning products and dolls. The dolls executed by it, have embodied in themselves variety of live and direct images in the form of careful nurses in dresses with aprons, strict merchants-conservatives, pioneers with headers and cavalryman on dashing horses, and also cocks, geese, dogs, cats. All of them, as a rule, had bright emotional colouring: cheerful, thoughtful and sad. Similar dolls worked on as original sculptures, in which the volume was outlined behind, and the forward party remained flat.

        A painting of cut toys of Semenovsk region is original. Fedoseevsk’s mills, two-deck steamships, wheelchairs, swing were painted in typical canary colour and decorated by a contour vegetative pattern with green leaflets, lilac and red berries, scarlet flowers. Toys made in the Polkhovsky Maidan village, differs contrast paints on colour: crimson, green, dark blue, red. In the museum are stored toys and nested dolls, which were made in the Merinovsk artel and in the artel «Semenovsky cooperator» in 1950th years.
