It concerns to monuments of late tradition, volume enough (302 sheets) and richly illustrated (119 miniatures of 2 headpieces). All available narrations are included in it about the Mother of god Tikhvin, developed in 17-18th centuries.

The considerable part of the collection made books of the Cyrillic press. The collection of manuscripts and old printing books has considerably replenished as result of active collective work for years of existence of the museum. In the present, it totals more than thousand copies. The basic core of the collection is 59 books of the former collection of Trinity-St.Sergius Lavra.

The collection of old printing books has started to be completed again, purposefully and regularly, only since 1958 in connection with the organisation of expeditions under the account and gathering of products of Old Russian art. Three books of 16th century are the earliest in a museum collection: so-called Moscow hide type Gospel (1564) (catalogue ¹ 1), Psalter with posteriority, printed in the Jail in 1598 (catalogue ¹ 544), and the Gospel of 1600 published in Wilno (catalogue ¹ 526).

Two thirds from 524 copies of books of the Cyrillic press are books of Moscow printing houses 16-18th centuries. Production of other printing houses, in particular, of Warsaw, Wilno, Grodno, Kiev, Klintsy, Lvov, Ostrog, Pochaev, Suprasl and St.-Petersburg are presented by individual copies. Among rare editions of the beginning of 17th century it is necessary to allocate the Gospel A. M. Radishchevskogo (1606) (catalogue ¹ 2), the Gospel of archimandrite Nektariy of 1633 (catalogue ¹10). One of samples secondary menology’s is menology 1690 in leather cover on boards, with a stamping.

The most numerous group in a museum collection is made by the editions of 18th century presented in basic "ordinary", which volumes have most full remained to our time. Secondary menology (176 editions in 193 copies) and the Gospel (44 editions in 103 copies) are most full presented by quantity of editions i.e. more than half of all collection. One of the reasons of prevalence the last are the precious covers, which have remained on much books, or the salaries, decorated with an engraving, niello, stamping, moulding and sometimes jewels.

It is possible to carry the Gospel of 1722 to printing editions of 18th century: one copy in velvet cover with enamel ornaments, another - on the boards closed by the copper stamping salary. On the top board - Revival of the Christ and evangelists. The book «Acathistuses and canons», published in Kiev in 1731 is perfectly illustrated. Pages of the book are in frameworks with a magnificent vegetative ornament.
